Hindawi

In het rapport dat ik noem in mijn vorige bericht, zag ik een link naar Hindawi. Nog niet eerder van gehoord, maar wel iets om in de gaten te houden. Hindawi Publishing Corporation is:
"a rapidly growing academic publisher with more than one hundred Open Access journals covering all major areas of science, technology, and medicine, and a book publishing program that spans all scholarly disciplines. Founded in 1997, Hindawi publishes 150+ open access, peer-reviewed journals. In 2007 Hindawi entered into a publishing partnership with SAGE Publications in order to jointly develop a collection of open access journals, which are hosted on the SAGE-Hindawi platform."

Over hun tijdschriften:
"Hindawi publishes a collection of peer-reviewed, open access journals covering several areas in science, technology, and medicine. All articles published in Hindawi journals are open access and distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited."

Over hun boeken:
"Hindawi publishes original scholarly monographs and edited volumes in all academic disciplines including science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and the humanities. All manuscripts undergo rigorous editorial review and a thorough production process before publication. Published books are made available for purchase in print and digital formats to libraries as well as to individuals."

Ook bij Hindawi zijn de UvT-disciplines nauwelijks vertegenwoordigd: nog maar één boek bij de social sciences. Voor de tijdschriften moet de link met de UvT gezocht worden in Medicine, Neuroscience en Computer Science. Het is me alleen nog niet duideliljk hoe het met de publication costs zit.
